Men are allowed to be Girl Scout leaders. However, Girl Scout troops must
have at least two leaders, and at least one of them must be female. The
stated purpose of this is to demonstrate female leadership.
I think we would all agree that it is also desirable to have at least one of
the leaders of a Boy Scout troop to be male, when this is possible. But that
doesn't mean that the leaders must be exclusively male. I can't think of one
point of the Scout Law or Scout Oath that can't be demonstrated by a woman.
