Well, having to admit to being old enough to remember when it was added
-- I also remember it being called "the phrase". Phrases are offset by
commas, so we were taught, at the time, to say ...one nation, under God,
Commas are out of fashion (too confusing, they claim), so now I am being
told it should be said ...one nation under God indivisible... Aside from
that being a rather large mouthful to say on one breath, I think it
changes the meaning.
Anyone care to discuss that aspect of it? (g)
