I should have been more specific about the type of Remington tents that I
had experience with that leaked like a sieve. They were the cabin style
tents with dividers for three compartments, much like was mentioned in the
original message. They do not have a rain fly of any kind. That is why the
seams need to be waterproofed. If you have a fly that keeps the water off
of the seams, like the three-man Remington tent mentioned, you do not need
to worry about sealing the seams on a tent.
