Seems this thread is getting a little heavy, but I have to question some of
what I'm reading. No where in the requirements book do I read that the
requirement is simply to HOLD the position. The language is "While a _____
Scout, SERVE ACTIVELY for ___ months..."
I fully support the notion of requiring no more and no less than the written
requirement, but I clearly read this one as a subjective requirement that is
not merely met by holding the position "no matter how well he did."
Unfortunately we have had some Scouts who have been elected or appointed to
positions and then done virtually nothing. They may have HELD the position,
but they certainly have not SERVED ACTIVELY.
