This comes up from time to time:
A Council and their Districts can arrange themselves any way that they
choose to effect quality commissioner service. In some Councils, Districts
have Assistant Roundtable Commissioners.
While there's no official badge of office for the position, the position is
valid if the Council *certifies* that the position is needed. This is the
same as some Councils which have "Council Boy Scout" and "Council Cub
Scout" Commissioners, both wearing the Council Commissioner badge of office.
What does the Assistant Roundtable Commissioner wear as a badge of office?
The Roundtable Staff badge of office (Cub, Scout, Varsity, Venturing)
Roundtable staff members are considered members of the Commissioners staff.
They earn the Commissioner Training Award (the Scouters' Training Award as
a Commissioner staff member).
Key Commissioners (Unit, Assistant District, District and Roundtable) earn
the Scouters' Key Award in their roles as a Commissioner. Once earned in
one Commissioner role, the Key cannot be earned again in another "key role"
as a Commissioner; it can be earned again as a key unit leader.
