reminds me of the line of questioning I used to use in similar
scout: "My mom didn't wash it yet."
me: "Do you know how to use a washer?"
Scout had 1 of two answers:
me: "Looks like a great time to learn."
me: "So why didn't you use it?"
I would then point out that:
1. The uniform was his responsibility, just like the tents.
2. That, when he turned 18, he would probably no longer be living at
home, and mom would no longer be doing his wash. Now would be a great
time to learn, while mom is around to teach.
