Having read some of these posts, I was reminded of merit badges back in the
16th century when I was earning them.
There was the "Home Repairs" Merit Badge. One of the requirements was to
darn a sock. Others, I believe, related to sewing.
I just checked my requirements book and Home Repairs is still a Merit Badge.
However, sewing is no longer a requirement.
I might suggest that the advocates of sewing skills write to the Boy Scouting
Committee to suggest that one or more sewing requirements be added to Home
Repairs. That is a lot more likely than creating a Sewing MB.
