I would suggest that he (and a parent) talk to the Scoutmaster and the Committee
Chair regarding the lack of response from the Advancement Committee. Give them
the chance to deal with this first - but specify a time frame (like within the
next 48 hours). And make it real clear, that if they do not respond with either
the list or an update - that you will appeal to the Unit Commissioner, District
Commissioner, and the District Advancement Chair.
They may be some reasonable reason why they did not respond to your son. But,
that does not let them off the hook in my mind - they owe the Scout a response.
As a Committee Chair I would want to be made aware of a problem such as this in
our Troop - and would get an answer back to the Scout as quickly as possible.
That's only fair.
