Now the problem is the cake mix turns a light brown and stays on top. When I
soop it out there was a lot of juice from the apples.
Doesn't the cake mix suppose to mix with the fruit when cooking?
Does anybody just mix the cake and fruit together before cooking?
A cobbler has fruit on the bottom and topping-- usually crunchy-- on the top.
They should not mix while baking.
If you WANT them mixed up, go ahead and mix them before pouring into the DO.
As an alternative, you can put the cake mix in first and then gently spoon
the fruit on top. It will sink down into the cake somewhat, and this makes a
