Now the problem is the cake mix turns a light brown and stays on top. When I
soop it out there was a lot of juice from the apples.
Doesn't the cake mix suppose to mix with the fruit when cooking?
Does anybody just mix the cake and fruit together before cooking?
My troop cooks a Peach Cobbler the same way, we found the key is to drain
off about 1/3 of the juice from the can. Also nowadays, most cake mixes have
pudding in them which adds moisture. We have had good results in using a
cake mix. Albertson's carries it under the "Lucky" brand name. They also
it under "Krusty's" name.
Hope this helps.
