Hi All, Don is so right, learning from our struggles and adversities is the main
objective in Scouting for building leaders of integrity. I know of several
instances this year of adult leaders upset over the behaviors of Scouts. We
forget that this is where we want to see these sorts of behavior so that we can
work to change them. If your Troop has a bad weekend of fighting, disrespect or
just bad patrol method, identify why and work with the Scouts to change. Many
times we are startled to find the adults are part of the problem. Don't be
afraid of these tough situations, learn to use them as tools towards improving
both the boy and adult program. There is little growth in the perfect program.
Have a great Scouting weekend. Hey, is anyone going to Slippery Falls Scout
Ranch June 4th -10th?
