What do you mean "her" sewing machine? That thing is MINE! I learned how to
"sew" on my mother's old peddle Domestic, which now sets in my bedroom. My
power Singer is just a small portable with the narrow foot (good for sleeves,
etc.). I ain't fancy but I can sew on patches, pockets, hem trousers, sew on
buttons, etc., all the survival skills that cost big bucks at the tailor's shop
or dry cleaners.
You need to get her to teach you some rudimentary sewing skills, let her see
that you are VERY careful with "her" machine, and maybe, just maybe, she will
begin to trust you not to jam it up.<VBG>
