I'm sure some of you are WAY more experienced with patches than I am --
but there are 4 of us uniform-wearers in this family and I have done all
the sewing so I have some opinions on this.
I find getting a pin into a tiny little patch (especially those darned
arrowpoints my kids have earned so many of) next to impossible. I can
never get it to stay straight while I'm sewing. So I have resorted to
washable glue and some wash-away double-sided tape that seems to work
really well. (Some tape will gum up your needle.) I haven't used
staples but I think I could handle that better than pins, too. Besides
the pins always seem to bend in the patches, so they're not really
resuable after that, anyway.
