Sorry, I couldn't resist. :-)
I have an insignia question that I cannot find an explicit answer to.
As I'm sure most of you know, a Webelos Den may (at it's option) choose
to take on a 'name' and insignia like a patrol does in a scout troop.
(Note that it's _still_ a den; _that_ is explicitly stated.)
In this case, the boys wear the appropriate 'patrol insignia' on their
uniform in place of the den number. This much is spelled out in the
My question is about the Den Leader(s) -- do they also wear the patrol
insignia instead of den number? The insignia guide (my copy of which
unfortunately is home so I can't quote from it right now) specifically
states that Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts, as well as Den Leaders,
Webelos Den Leaders and their assistants wear the den number, but
there is no mention of WDL in the paragraph which talks about the
optional use of the patrol medallion.
I've also checked some of the online resources, and can't find any
reference either way.
So, anyone know?
Sorry if this seems petty, but I really need to know whether my wife
needs to sew two patches on or one! :-)
