Regarding "Positions of Responsibility" (e.g. Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol
Leader, Instructor, Troop Guide, etc.) are there BSA requirements that a
Scout must reach a certain rank before he may serve in a certain position of
Our Troop requires that the Senior Patrol Leader must be Star Rank or above,
the Patrol Leader must be First Class Rank or above, the Troop Guide must be
Star Rank or above and an Instructor must be Star Rank or above. I've
looked through the BSA handbook and the Junior Leader handbook, and I've
perused the US Scouting Service Project website. I can't seem to find any
mention of Scouts being required to achieve a certain rank before they can
run for election for a position of responsibility.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
