your thoughts on this situation would be appreciated.
Life Scout (not in my unit), passed his board of review. asked why he wants
Eagle, said "need it to drive a car". the Scout has shown, in my opinion,
poor Scout Spirit, not only at meetings, but outside of Scouting also. he
has shown little interest in anything but sports, but I won't start down
that road this time.
my opinion, if a kid is advancing in this situation, that is a direct
reflection of the quality of the program the unit is offering to the
Scouts. poor Scout Spirit--the Scout should have never made it out of his
Scoutmaster Conference to the BOR.
one member of the BOR voted against advancing the kid, but was "beat" into
submission and changed his vote.
now, we have a kid on the final stretch to Eagle, who presently does not
have his heart in the program.
your thoughts on what to do, if anything, would be appreciated; not only
for this Scout, but for those who follow in this particular unit.
