scouts-l Mail Archive for May of 2000: Youth Protection Question
Thu May 11 2000 - 23:53:31 CDT
I have a need for input and information from the group.
In our District and infact in our Council, we have certain persons that are
"Certified Youth Protection Trainers" They are certified by a Council
representative to give Youth Protection Training.
I have been told that this is policy. Has anyone else heard this and is
this how it is done in your area? If it is indeed policy, is it National or is
it our Council's policy? And if it is our Council's policy, is it up to the
individual Council as to how the Youth Protection Program is ran?
I have to say that I agree with the way things are done because it lends
qaulity control to the Training and allows me as the training chair to
keep a database of who is trained and keep track of when Trainings are
We do have a Youth Protection Training coordinator in our District whom
people can call and find out when the next training is available or even to
schedule a training for their unit.
How is this handled in your area? If this is a National Policy, can you
send me to it?
