I was Cub RT Commish for about a year or so, and am currently BSRT Commish.
We actively advertised children were welcome for Cub RT. The meeting started
at about 6:30, and most attendees had more than one child. We provided
childcare during the meeting with 2 adult volunteers, along with any Webelos
to assist. If we did not do this, about 1/2 of the attendees would not be
able to come, since they were not going to pay a baby-sitter so they could
come to RT.
Of course, any rank Scout is encouraged to attend BSRT at any time. I am
working on some ideas to have SPLs, ASPLs, PLs and APLs come on a regular
basis. Some have come and used our group to make presentations for a variety
of advancement credit.
In no case have we had any incidents or misadventures. The parents in Cubs
appreciated the effort.
