A VERY big thank you to all who provided me with ideas on where to find a
no charge web site. As Mike Bowman points out, I expect no-cost will
widely become low-cost in the near future. Here in Raleigh most of the
smaller ISPs are being eaten up in acquisitions, and with this, free is
becoming a thing of the past. BTW, I also found out that one of our
local TV stations, WRAL-TV, will provide community service groups with
no-charge hosting. That's another idea for those following this tread.
Still checking on that and the other leads.
On the question of BSA rules, I spoke to our Council VP of Admin and was
told that locally units are expected to very closely the National
guidelines. Things like hyperlinks to commercial sites other than the
host are enough to get a unit in trouble. The penalty is no use of BSA,
Council, or district links, and no links to the unit from the Council or
