Not quite. While the BSA *reserves the right* of the usage of the
descriptor "Jamboree" to describe a national or international camping and
Scouting event, the BSA HAS given SOME local Councils the permission to use
the word "Jamboree" to describe a SPECIAL camping event held in that
Council. The National Jamboree Service will ONLY allow that name to be used
(as in "Council Jamboree 2000") in connection with special,
"once-in-a-lifetime" events which will NOT be duplicated in successive years.
It is done on a case-by-case basis, and requires permission in writing from
the National Jamboree Service for it to be called such an event.
So, it is possible for her Council to have a special "Y2K Council Jamboree"
(as long as the words "Council" and "Jamboree" are used together).
