I suppose it could be different from lodge to lodge.....but I doubt it. In
our lodge you have one year from the time of election to complete your
Ordeal. Callout can occur at ANY summer camp session or can be handled by
the Chapter. In our Chapter, we do an elaborate callout (torchlit canoes
across the lake, etc)....the called scouts then have several opportunities
to complete the Ordeal and become full members of the Order.
I suggest you contact first, your Chapter Adviser. That is a
district-level position and that name should be readily available from
either your DC or DE. If OA is not active in your district, you might not
have one....go right on to Council and talk to the OA Staff Adviser.
The bottom line is that IF your son was elected, in an election held by the
Chapter Election Team (the only valid election in our district) then he has
every right to be called and be given a chance to complete the Ordeal. I
assume there is a duly executed Lodge election form with the signatures of
both the SM and the Election Team Coordinator on it that confirms your
BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
