example to pass up and you're a good sport, so....

Thank you for what the newspapers would call a "clarification." The way
I read (past-tense) the original posts, it was the plural parents of a
singular boy who were (plural) objecting. With your clarification, the
opposite interpretation is certainly possible: a singular parent of
plural boys objects (singular).
