There is no special treatment from the BSA to/for LDS units. There is
special treatment of the LDS for/to the BSA.
The LDS, instead of developing a youth ministry/youth program/youth outreach
of their own looked at the BSA and said, that is a great program, we will
use the BSA as our youth program. Consequently each LDS church as a Boy
Scout troop and/or Cub pack if they have youth of that age group in the
church. The unit leaders are assigned by the Church.
It is a pretty neat idea, and the way Scouting is to be sold to other
