I have been debating on whether to apply or not. My only concern is the
cost. I would be committing at least two weeks of vacation time and
understandably transportation costs. I would also agree to pay $495 for
food for two weeks to be an adult volunteer? It seems a little pricey
for two weeks of food. Philmont does not charge anywhere near that for
dehydrated mealsand their treks. I think our local council charges $80
for a week for adult leaders at summer camp. I know that some of the
Jamboree charge is going to help diffuse costs and is going to a good
