Good question, Leslie -- and I don't know the answer.
I do know that in 1973 when the Leadership Development course was released
nationwide, it was NOT recommended that Wood Badge trained Scouters reattend.
And that course was a total change from the previous Scoutmaster's course.
However, we held update sessions for the current Wood Badge Scouters to
introduce them to the 11 Leadership Skills (then called the Competencies).
I don't have access yet to the new Course Guide, so I can't comment on how
total the changes are, but I understand that they are very substantial.
Some updating will likely be needed. Whether there will be some National
outline for the updating or each council will need to develop it isn't known
I do know that the best way to learn the course in 1973, and probably the
best way now, is to serve on a course staff. So if you have that
opportunity, jump at it. And I believe that those individuals running the
new course the first year or two will need to make updating their staff and
their council one of their significant tasks.
Maybe some other listmembers have more information.
