While it is possible to get money. My problem with so many of the suits on
the Exec Board in my council is that they don't know enough about the
program to realize how bad some of the decisions that they make are.
Now, I run a nonprofit for a living and report to a Board. I have been
chairing the board of my state professional association since July 1. I
serve on the governing body by my national professional association. So I
think I know something about boards (after all I was elected to the latter
When the Council Exec again allows scouts to go camping at the scout camp
leased to a local nonprofit organization (who REQUIRED a clause in the
lease encouraging Boy Scout use), then I'll give money to the council.
Until then, forget it. This year at least the Council backed down about the
campership policy and our troop will have its first FOS presentation in a
couple of years.
