A Scout is courteous.
Celebrating San Jacinto Day would be like rubbing salt in an open wound.
While the historic significance of the day should not be forgotten, that's no
reason to remind our neighbors to the south that we "stole" that province
from them. It would be much like the Protestants of Northern Ireland who
insist on celebrating the English defeat of an Irish army a few hundred years
ago, a battle that the English themselves, to their credit, do not celebrate.
But that's just my opinion.
