Having studied survey methods in college, I realize that for the results of any study(poll) to be valid, the polling methods must be accounted for, and must not influence the results in ANY way.
The results of this poll will not be a valid indicator of widespread acceptance for this idea, because only those persons who support the idea will be interested in spending the $2.95 for the fax. The results can be expected to indicate an extremely large number of yes votes, in the order or 90 - 95%. The poll would be much more valid if it were conducted either with an 800 number or just a regular long distance number for the fax back, or even better, a telephone survey.
Either way, this is a poll designed to prove the point that the group who commissioned it want it to prove, and nothing more. The results are invalidated by the methodology.

I just got a fax from a company called Digital Recall that says "Should the
Boy Scouts of America be forced to allow g@@s as Scoutmasters?" Under that
cost you $2.95 to fax it back to them on a 900 number!!! How can these people
exploit everyone like this to turn a buck? Has anyone else got one of these?
