Sad, but true. Most Den Leaders have no clue as to what a
Den Chief can do.
I always invite Den Leaders to sit in on the Den Chief Training
Seminar (for free) just to expose them to the possibilities.
I haven't looked at the Den Leader Training Award requirements
lately, but with all this emphasis on supplementary training,
I would hope that attending this course could count as such.
Not only do they learn just what the Den Chiefs have been trained
to do, but they also see the older Scouts teaching them. Blows
them away to see a Boy Scout standing up there with more
confidence and experience at teaching skills than they (the Den
