I don't see where there is a problem here. It seems that the counselor is
doing the scout a favor by not accepting what could be perceived as "hurry"
work. While we all can make tipeografikal :-) errors and misspellings, that
doesn't make them acceptable. Most work today is done on a computer and
even the low end word processors have a spell check program.
>From your letter it doesn't appear that the counselor is going against any
BSA policies. Maybe the young man in question is not accustomed to a
"tough" merit badge counselor.
