scouts-l Mail Archive for April of 2000: prayers appreciated!
Mon Apr 10 2000 - 14:04:51 CDT
Sarah reminds me that I asked for prayers for a Scout hit by a Jeep while
driving a go-cart in November, and asks how he's doing now?
Neil is, amazingly, back to being his normal self. He had a very serious head
injury with intracranial bleeding but to the neurology department's amazement
woke up in about three days and made rapid progress with his brain. I went
to see him about 5 days after the accident and he shoook my hand and mumbled
something like "Thanks for coming to see me," remarkable for a normal teen
and more so with a brain injury <G>.
He will need some more surgery to fix up some restrictive scarring in his
chest from the lung collapse, but that's pretty easy. He will not graduate
with his class but should finish up in December, due to the time off he had
to take. He's fine.
Neil finished his Eagle BoR and has his CoH in June. Having passed his 18th
birthday he is now one of our SA's.
You have reminded me that perhaps we ought to forward good news more often
<G>, and to thank everyone for the prayers... looks like they worked.
