At the summer Webelos camp do you normally have the Webelos leader take the
boys or would you also have an Assistant Scoutmaster go with them, to help
teach them the "Scout" way? Since some (NOT ALL) Webelos leaders are not
aware of how a troop works.
Also would you do this on Webelos overnighters. Now this is more so for the
2nd year Webelos than the 1st. And yes I know that a parent must go camping
with the Webelos!
Also, this is for Paul or Mike or the other Mike!~!~! mostly. Where and when
did the rule for a parent going camping with the Webelos come in to effect
and can you tell me why? I know this is policy, but if you are getting them
ready for Boy Scouts, it doesn't seem feasible to have a parent there.
Parents are welcome always, but what I am talking about is to introduce the
patrol method of camping, it's hard to do with Parents there always saying
things like "Little Johnny can't cut potatoes with a knife cause I just don't
want him too" (this is an extreme) but you get the gest.
I just don't understand the philosophy behind MAKING parents be there instead
of getting the boys used to the "Boy Scout" method of camping.
But to answer the main question that will come up after you read this post.
MY WEBELOS PARENTS WILL BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!
