Lets see, there is a guy here not a mile from the Alamo using a Mac
and there is a pretty lady I remember who was taking her Mac to New
Zealand...and now you. OK, Three Mac users....VS. Fourteen Hundred and
fifty-two--No, wait, That's guitar-pickers in Nashville. Seven Thousand
Forty-two gazillion PC pounders, not counting Linux, Unix, Cakemix and
DOS (the 8086 geeks). Most of the viruses are written by students at
schools--schools who buy truckloads of....PCs!!! Then the young hackers
who never come out of their rooms at home because of the beige box
bought by Granpere who was looking only at the pricetag...or for that
matter, you can get last year's model free if you beat the janitors to
the PCs that get piled in the hall when a company in your building
upgrades. (I got two that way.) They have nothing to do and a computer
to do it in.
And every PC has tucked inside that insidious, bulging, piggish,
obdurate, piece of frustration known as the WindowsX operating system.
With the time to play coupled with the intense, raging, hatred for
Windows that builds up in any who try to make it behave.....the real
question is why there are only five thousand or so viral agents in the
wild. Of course, it is easier and more quickly satisfying to simply
pick the thing up, bounce it off some concrete and dance on the pieces
(wear shoes) If the thing is 6-months old, it is already obsolete and
slow so...go get the next level of mental torture.
Then there is the Mac...upgrades on the decade, operated by kindly,
gentle, genteel, graphic artists and the like, people who know nothing
of the blue screen of death, who never had 300 pages of manuscript
vanish into a black hole because you sneezed and hit the wrong key or
something. People of grace and manners who would never want to take the
time to write a program designed to eat the very operating system that
it was spawned from. Mac users...the world's largest consumers of
Maybe too, the hackers just haven't noticed the three of you
