We take a combination approach. Sometimes we eat with the boys,
sometimes we cook everything ourselves. It's not evenly divided
though. Most campouts, the Mad Cow patrol does it's own cooking. Maybe
two or three a year we eat with the boys, because, let's face it, it's
fun for adults to cook on campouts!
When I took SM Fundamentals, the staff ate with the patrols for lunch.
Just like at Camporee, we had to go to the staff area and escort our
staff member to our campsite. But I think they ate the evening meal
together, so they modeled a combination method for us.
