I hope someone can track down Joel Patten's exercise as it sounds
In this vein, I've seen a series of publications on "non competitive
games" which I understand to now be published by the YMCA. My favorite
is "beach blanket volleyball":
Start with two team mates and a blanket per side - catch the ball with
the blanket - can't touch it with your hands - and throw it back over.
As more players become available, simply alternate assigning the new
comers to keep the teams balanced. Size of team is limited only by
size of blanket but blanket can't be to large as the idea is for the
players to have to run together to catch the toss from the other side.
Works with all ages, Cubs to adults.
