"Another ScoutNet 2000 Problem
I have learned that there is another bug in the system in
that it won't take
any training information."
after Ronald Fox had posted:
"Hm. We certainly got our charter and membership cards.
However, they were
two months late, reputedly due to a SN2K problem."
I hadn't heard about the card problem, but I do have some
first-hand knowledge about the training problem. I have
recently mailed off my last two CSTWB ticket items, and one
of them involved gathering training data from the district
using registration information. I found that SOME training
data took on SN2K. Much didn't. It even shows that I'm not
"trained." I was surprised by that, since I am trained in
the position of my primary registration, Cubmaster. I'm
also trained in a lot of other positions, but the
registration can only reflect your primary.
I'm not sure where the bug really is; in the SN2K or in how
units submit their data. The first should be able to be
remedied. The second will involve much more training of
units and assistance from the Commissioners, and will
probably be harder to fix permanently.

I used to be an Owl (W-CS-44) Working my Ticket (just mailed
my last two ticket items!)
I have come to realize that there are two types of adults
involved in Scouts!
Those that act...
And those who find all the time in the world to drop off
their Scout for a meeting or camp!
