I have an interesting question that I need specifics (not opinions) on.
I value everyone opinions who participate on this list. But, because of
the nature of this situation and who I am dealing with - I need very
specific answers (like quotes and references to the BSA Rules and Regs).
* The purpose of a Board of Review is........? I know it is not to
retest; I need to absolutely convince another adult Committee Member
that "no retest" also means to not (I repeat NOT) second guess the
Scoutmaster after he has passed a Scout onto his Board of Review. This
gentleman believes that some Scouts have, in his opinion, not lived up
to their end of the bargain regarding Leadership. My argument is, if a
Scout is sitting in a BOR it is because the SM has checked his
requirements, including the Leadership portion (if it applies). This
gentleman sees it otherwise. I tried reason - and it turned into a fight
- with me begin accused of "selective ignorance" (interesting phrase
isn't it). So, I am left with quoting facts.
