I have a situation that I need some input and direction on.
At a Cub Scout pack campout this past weekend, there was a dad there that
was consuming alcohol and was drunk on BSA property. The situation was
handled correctly. The Pack is now trying to get the Dad banned from
participation in any activities with the Pack no matter where they are
at. The Dad is not registered as a Scouter with the BSA. The pack has
been in contact with the Scout office and they have asked the Scout office
to sign a letter along with the Pack Committee Chairman and Pack's
Institutional Head that will ban the father from participating in pack
activities. The Scout office will not sign the letter because they say it
is the responsibility of the Charter organization to deal with the situation.
Has anyone out there had any problems like this that might help the Pack in
dealing with this correctly?
