I'm very proud of the fact that I never slapped any
of the bozos who've told me that - and it's an
amazingly common excuse.>
My favorite was always, "I'd like to help you out, but
I've got other kids you know." It was fun to inform
them then that I had 4 children at home!
Another one guaranteed to irk me was, "I simply have
too many other things to do, to be able to help out."
There I stood as the Den Leader/Cub Master, mother of
4 kids, worked outside of my home, involved in PTA,
the School District's Special Education Advisory
Committee and CHADD (Children and Adults with
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), volunteered
in the classroom, etc. I used to just shake my head
and think, "It's just a matter of priorities." ;^)
