Now, the best thing for your committe to do is to allocate a small sum to
you to make a purschase. Then RUN, don't walk, to your local scout service
center and get a copy of BSA publication # 33009 The Scoutmaster Handbook.
You will find all you need on running a true boy-run program which is the
basic model of Boy Scouting. Later you can lend it to members of your
committee, the more famililar with the scouting program everyone involved
is, the better off you and your toop will be.
Finally, tell yourself and your committe that the next time Scoutmaster
Fundamentals is offered by your district or council, you and as many adult
memeber of the troop who can, are attending.
For your boys, send them to JLT! (Junior Leadership Training) Give them
their rightful role in the Troop, with you as their guide. Then train them,
trust them and you will be proud of what they do.
