I take great pleasure in announcing that our son, Jeremy Schmid,
completed his Eagle Board of Review on March 8. He and I are grateful to
the members of this list, as many of you were instrumental in providing
him with guidance along the way on many topics, including his Eagle
Jeremy Schmid, age 15, is a freshman at Carmel HS where he is a member of
the Ski Team and Future Business leaders of America. He attends Hopewell
Reformed Church and is a very active member of the Youth Fellowship
there. His Summer Camp adventures include trips to Camp Rennaqua, Camp
Tuscarrora, and Curtis S. Reed Scout Reservation. Last summer Jeremy
participated in Troop 40's International Youth Exchange trip to Scotland
and London. He also attended Florida High Adventure Seabase and earned
his Open Water Scuba Diving Certification.
On his trail to Eagle, Jeremy has earned 35 merit badges. the BSA
Lifeguard Certification, Den Chief Service Award, Conservation Award, CPR
certification and the God and Church Religious medal. Jeremy is also a
Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
Jeremy has learned leadership by serving his Troop (Troop 40 Hopewell
Jct NY) in the positions of Historian, Instructor, Quartermaster and is
presently an Asst. Senior Patrol Leader. While holding these positions in
the troop he has also served his former pack for 3 years as a Den Chief
and will be bridging his den into his troop this month.
Jeremy's Eagle project consisted of planning and implementing a Kosevo
Relief Drive in which he collected over 2400 food and personal hygiene
items that were delivered to the Kosovo Refugee Camps during the Kosovo
This summer Jeremy plans to continue to enjoy Scouting by attending JLT
training, a High Adventure Canoe Week and he would like to work as Camp
Staff at a BSA Camp.
