Consider a monthly parents' information meeting. The committee chair can
run it, call on the troop committee members (treasurer, activities, etc.)
for reports and upcoming events, and have the SPL and SM come in and make
reports. We always include "mini-training" in ours on merit badge
counseling, patrol operations, etc. This is a separate meeting from the
troop committee meeting.

Subject: Troop Communication
(snip)... our troop has a slight problem in the communication area.
Parents are always complaining that they don't know about upcoming
events and activities.
The PLC makes their phone calls, we have a web site with the calendar of
events, we have handed out flyers and we make announcements at the end
of each troop meeting. To no avail it seems the message still does not
reach the parents.
