One question about this. Are you being consulted ex post facto? I have
problems when my Scouts (or their parents, the boys know me better) come to me
after the fact and say, "He did it, now give him credit." The requirement
specifically says that the project must be approved by the Scout master BEFORE
the project is performed.

IN my area poll watchers have to be voters. Obviously this is not true
everywhere, but if it is a true volunteer service then it sounds good to me.

Is Grandmother the owner/operator of the center? If so, this is child labor and
subject to child labor laws. If she is one of those being cared for , then I
agree with those who state that it is a good project as long as he is not only
caring for his grandmother.

I hope this is a good service project. The museum that I curate uses a lot of
Scouts of both sexes and all ages, I shudder to think of what would happen if
we could not use Scouts.

As other have said. Who Proposes? Who disposes? If this is a requirement for
membership on the team, it sounds like double credit for one project to me.

Sounds like double credit to me. This is one that my Scouts know better that to
even ask about. Our Troop has a written policy that puts the boys on their
honor not to use Service hours for both Graduation and service hours for
