Looking for the wisdom of the list--
I need some input on what your local council/district sets as
requirements for the "Junior Staff" (ie Boy Scouts helping the
adults staff the various activity stations). Is anyone aware of
a BSA/National Standard in this regard (does not seem to be in
Does it seem reasonable to require them be 14 or older?
Also, do all youth staff have to BSA registered?
And if so, how do you use the resources of Girl Scouts who
volunteer to help baby sit "the babies" (of adult staffers)?
(Note, adults volunteers don't have to be registered, but they
do have to attend YPT.)
Also, I would be curious about your typical attendance at Day Camp.
Our District runs 2 parallel sessions in the morning/afternoon
(one for Cubs, one for Webelos). Each session has 200 boys--
so there are 400 Cubs/Webelos "around" at one time.
Thanks in advance. Off list reponses are fine.
