The Capitol Area Council's summer camp facility, the Lost Pines Scout
Reservation near Bastrop, Texas, still has openings for troops during
four weeks in July, 2000.
If you are looking for an excellent summer camp in Texas, Lost Pines is
a camp you may want to consider. Openings remain during these weeks:
July 2-8, July 9-15, July 16-22 and July 23-29.
The camp fee is $140 per Scout. One leader is free for 1-8 Scouts; 2
leaders free for 9-16 Scouts; 3 leaders free for 17-24 Scouts; and a
maximum of 4 leaders free for 25 or more Scouts. The fee for additional
leaders is $60 each.
Lost Pines offers an excellent overall summer camp program, including a
wide variety of aquatics activities, a nice program for new Scouts, a
rappelling tower and a special all-day "Pathfinder Challenge" high
adventure program for older Scouts (and adults). Aquatics badges
include Swimming, Lifesaving, Canoeing, Rowing, Motorboating, Small Boat
