Some do, yes. It would certainly be a good source to check out. Also what
in Wisconsin is called the University Extension. You might know the person
as a County Agent--someone who's main concern is agriculture but who can be
a source for all sorts of publications on nature, etc. There may also be a
local, small press which specializes in books about your State.
