While you're looking at tree books, see if any of you spot this one:
grows wild in VA/WV/MD; has leaves like a black locust, flowers like a
wisteria (purple and pendulous), seeds are long dried bean pods.
Probably indiginous, since it grew at my Great-grandmother's place (she
was born in 1875). Blooms same time as the other locust, dogwood, redbuds.
I've spent the past year looking for it and have come up empty.
