I've followed this thread for quite some time. Now, I
have a few questions regarding crossover and AOL. I'm
a W2DL and the CM for our pack. So wearing both hats
I'm kind of schizophrenic when it comes to AOL and
I agree they should be two distinct ceremonies.
However, sometimes a boy joins in his fifth grade year
and it takes every bit of six months to earn AOL.
Then an AOL/crossover ceremony is necessary.
Hopefully the boy has been visiting the troop he will
be crossing over with and even camping with them on
several occassion before the crossover.
I've seen several people say they had WEb1's earning
their AOL? How can this be? What about the time
requirement of being in cub scouting for six months
after completing 4th grade? The earliest I see a boy
earing the AOL if in public school in December. This
being the case, he has not completed fifth grade and
is not required to crossover. Maybe I'm wrong. My
son did not earn his AOL until the B&G and won't
crossover until end of March. It took every month
following the guidelines and suggestions of older and
