The important point, I think, is that ALL Scouts receive the same
information -- whether it's by F2F, phone, fax, or e-mail, EVERY boy in
the Troop should receive information about upcoming events and meetings.
For that matter, EVERY registered adult should receive it too.
If "fact 1" was announced at PLC and at Troop meeting, then if/when it is
changed to "fact 1a" then EVERYONE on the roster needs to be personally
informed .. even those the SPL thinks already knows.
Once in our Troop, the SPL forgot to tell his ASM Dad of a change, until
Dad was walking out the door to go to work at 7 Saturday morning. Dad
had no options, he had to go to work, and the Troop had to scramble two
additional drivers to cover the shortfall. "But I thought SM told you,
Dad" just didn't hack it.
But, bottom line, an e-mail someone didn't see isn't any worse than a
phone call they didn't get.
