One of the places we have loved backpacking is in the Snowmass-Maroon
Bells Wilderness in the White River National Forest south of Glenwood
We base in Marble, Colorado and start hiking. The Colorado Outward Bound
School is based just 3 miles from Marble. This is the area they use also.
Plan for after mid-July for all the passes to be open. It is a protected
wilderness area of exceptional beauty. There are some peaks rising above
